Bringing the games from the 90s, especially from the Amiga and Atari ST, to a mobile phone is not a complete new idea. Some games already found the the way to the cellular, like the Lotus-series or also Sensible Soccer. Even Amiga Inc. wants to combine desktop and mobile, but with very little success until the moment.
French newcomer Dotemu presents now Nicky Boom, original Amiga version by Microids. The game will be available for PocketPC, Symbian (mainly Nokia) and Palm. For you, who dont want to wait, here already a Flash-version:

Quizhunter Worldwide
"Where in the world is Carmen Santiago"? A real classic from the 80s where you have to find Carmen, while you are travelling around the planet. This mixture between adventure and quiz was used for this homage, called "Quizhunter Worldwide".
The player steps into the role of a private detective to find missing persons. In a chase around the world it is up to you to solve 2000 different riddles in 62 countries. Get the important clue where your missing person fled to. In each capital you can ask witnesses at the market place, the library, the stadium or the stock exchange. Depending on the visited location you get clues about culture of a country, sports, economy or generell clues.
"Quizhunter worldwide" offers four different game modes for singleplayer and multiplayer. In the singleplayer campaign the detective must find the lost brother of a millionaire heir. A journey which leads the player around the world starts. At the end of each singleplayer mission you can buy up to 12 upgrades for your detective, which enables him to do better inquisitions, reduces his costs for flying with a plane or gives him other advantages. In the "Freestyle" game mode you can capture cirminals and try to archieve a good ranking and maybe become the best detective of the world or use it for practise if you want to compete in multiplayer games with your friends. Besides of the "competetion"-multiplayer mode for two, three or four players there is a new exciting game mode, which allows one of two players to become a criminal and flee from the other player as private detective. The fleeing criminal can manipulate witnesses on his escape route and choose a tricky flight route to prevent the detective from finding him. Confuse your oponent with manipulated witnesses, lead him into countries where he knows nothing about and block his favorite question categories. This game can be so mean... you will love it!
In every game mode the players may choose between the four different private detectives Matthew, Tiffany, Kerrin and Jimmy. All have a different history and their own advantages and disadvantage for the hunt. An enormous ammount of different clues prevent the game of getting boring and steadily modified escape routes invite the player to play this game over and over.

Heidi's Beer Garden
Heidi' s Beer Garden is, as far as I remember, the only mobile game relating the famous Bavarian "Oktoberfest". No need to say it is covering all Bavarain clichés, like blonde women, leather trousers, cows and of course beer.
The result is a nice and playable arcade game. A must in the month of october! ;)

Rockstar Hero
To be honest, Rockstar Hero is strongly inspired by the actual console hits Rockband and Guitar Hero. If you know these two games, you are suprised how detailed this mobile game is. You can choose between different music styles and while playing are seeing different backgrounds, like the guitar or the band on the stage. Also the known guitar-solos are not missing.
Ok, what you are missing, the game-play (like also the orginals) is not that original if you are forgetting to play on the plastic instruments. With the keys you have to hit the right buttons in the right time. It is fun for a while, and of course, also to present to your friends and impress them that something from the XBOX can be inside a mobile phone. Nevertheless, if you love the originals, you will like Rockstar Hero.

Swamp Raiders
Nestled deep in the heart the jungle, accessible only by a heavily mined river, lies the stronghold of the rebel forces. Your team has been assigned a covert mission to penetrate this jungle swamp and destroy all enemies. Its a job for the Swamp Raiders...
What is to expect from such a description? The game reminds me to the C64. As war games still looked a bit more innocent, no comparisson to the Counterstrikes of today. What i forgot? Yes, it is fun to play!
Swamp Raiders is brought t your by fugumobile. This Shangai based firm is really working a lot, bringing 4 to 5 new games to the market each month. Not all of them are highlights, but always you can find some real perls.

Star Constellation Maker
Star Constellation Maker is this kind of application, which I would like to see more often on a mobile phone. Something small and unique. The designers of the Scottish team from 59Pixels present here an application, where you can design your own star constellation and save them later. Maybe to present you girl- or boy-friend. No 3D-engine, no licence from the latest movie, just a nice idea. Thanks!

Cellular Album "Mayra"
Erotic for mobile phones always have to be silicone and blond? Not always, like this screensaver is showing. It is including a photo-shooting of the Colombian model Mayra. It is not too fancy, but classic and reminds the viewer of the esthetic from the 60s. This Cellular Album presents different poses, sexy until topless. The quality in ensured by the well-known fashion photographer ReyTuk.
You can download it here.
Cellular Album "Adventure"
Well, the adventure needs an hut, we all know that. This screensaver presents adventureous and mysterious places from all around in Mexico. It is concepted as AnimatedGif, so should run on all mobile phones.
The basic idea of the Cellular Albums is to bring art books to the mobile phone. The time has already come for this or are maybe one or two years more necessary? We have to see....

Super Taxi Driver
Only a few game designers are able to bring a cellular so near to the modern consoles like the team from Microforum. Their title "Super Taxi Driver" reminds one at once to the "GTA"-series. Fast 3D-engine, fun game play, a "must" for all. What it is about?
Jump into your Taxi, and run throughout the streets of the city looking for passengers and dollars! Super Taxi Driver will allow you to drive the craziest taxis in the world. Fight against the time to get as many passengers as possible and collect the largest amount of tips that you can.
Different cars, different destinations, different cities; I love it! :)
